Tame Impala
Tame Impala is the primary outlet of Australian artist Kevin Parker. Formed in 2007 in Fremantle, Western Australia, over the course of four widely adored records Tame Impala has gone from barefoot backyard gigs to one of the most critically acclaimed and popular acts in the world.
As a live act Tame Impala has headlined Coachella, made multiple appearances at Primavera, Glastonbury and just about every other major festival globally, as well as selling out multiple Madison Square Gardens and Alexandra Palaces. As a recording act, Tame Impala has claimed over a dozen ARIAs, a Brit Award, two J Awards, two Rolling Stone Australia awards and too many WAMIs to count, as well as collecting multiple nominations for a Grammy and the Billboard Music Awards. Tame Impala recordings have been streamed billions of times.
Alongside his work as a solo recording artist and touring the world with a live band, Parker has been acclaimed as a songwriter and producer in high demand from contemporary music’s brightest lights, lending his talents to artists such as Rihanna, Mark Ronson, Dua Lipa, Miguel, Lady Gaga, Travis Scott, Gorillaz and Thundercat.
Throughout the projects evolution since inception the core tenet of Tame Impala has remained the same – charting Parker’s perpetual fascination with the power of sound and the unifying potential of timeless pop music. That much is unlikely to change.
